Description
Retrofit Weep Hole Covers are used for existing construction to keep bugs, mice, snakes and other such pests out! Weep holes on masonry wall construction, while necessary to vent moisture, are an open door for pests. Slam it shut with the Retrofit Weep Hole Cover! Height 5", these heavy duty plastic covers can be cut to size depending on height of weep hole.
Installation Instructions:
- Prep: For best results, clean the weep hole of all debris. Measure the brick depth, set drill bit 1/2" deeper. Standard weep holes are 3/8" in width but will vary. A smaller or larger masonry bit may be required.
- Remove Debris: Clear out debris by moving the drill up and down in the weep hole until the bit penetrates to the desired depth and height. For aesthetics, make sure the height of the weep holes is consistent down the wall.
- Clean: Use a Shop Vac or vacuum with an attached suction hose and vacuum out debris. You may need to use a flathead screw driver to remove large pieces.
- Size: Measure the height of the weep hole and use the metal snips or hacksaw to cut to size.
- Final Installation: Squeeze the flanges together and push in place. The cover can be flush in the weep hole or recessed.
Maintenance: Remove and wash if weep hole covers get clogged with debris.
